Fireworks Safety Guidelines

Your safety is our priority. Please follow these guidelines for a safe celebration.

General Prohibitions

Never do the following when handling fireworks:

  • Never allow young children to handle fireworks
  • Never place any part of your body directly over a fireworks device
  • Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that have not ignited fully
  • Never point or throw fireworks at another person
  • Never carry fireworks in a pocket or shoot them off in metal or glass containers

Safe Practices

Always follow these safety practices:

  • Always read and follow label directions carefully
  • Always have an adult supervise fireworks activities
  • Always use fireworks outside in a clear area away from buildings and vehicles
  • Always keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby in case of fire
  • Always light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly

Preparation & Cleanup

Before and after using fireworks:

  • Clear the area of any flammable materials before lighting fireworks
  • Wear safety glasses when shooting fireworks
  • Never experiment or make your own fireworks
  • After fireworks complete their burning, douse with water before disposal
  • Ensure all fireworks are completely extinguished before leaving the area

First Aid Measures

In case of accidents:

  • For burns, cool the area with running water for 10-15 minutes
  • Cover burns with a clean, dry cloth
  • For eye injuries, don't rub or rinse eyes - seek immediate medical help
  • Keep a first aid kit readily available
  • Know the location of the nearest medical facility
